REMEMBER AND PRAY, LEAST WE FORGET AND FAIL
Today we remember one of the darkest days in the history of America September 11, 2001, the day our nation was brutally attacked! What will you do to help others remember it!
We; the American people, must remember what happened that day and to tell the tragic story to the next generation (there are children in America who were too young to remember or not even born when the attack occurred, someone needs to tell them the truth of what happened, will you); not to be negative, but to help them learn there is an adversary, he is the devil and he is seeking to devour them. There are people so confused by the devil they allow themselves to do his evil works, people like Saul of Tarsus in the Bible, who knew the Bible cover to cover but did not know the God of the Bible.
It is wisely said; if we fail to learn from history we are destine to repeat it! I pray you are learning and teaching the truth of God’s Word to everyone He sends your way.
We must learn ourselves and teach our children to look past wealth and power to see truth. Direction and peace for our nation, is in the Word of God!
Many are gaining the understanding that the attacks in the world today are about spiritual matters! Some still believe the right army and the right tactics can defeat this enemy by destroying or controlling them. Yes, we see an earthly battle, and yes, many plan to achieve wealth and power through the battle. However, the motive or focus, matters little, the truth of the matter is we have engaged in a battle and yes it is for power and control, but it’s a battle we cannot hope to win without the power of Christ because it is a spiritual battle for the souls of men and women of all ages.
When you find yourself in a spiritual battle and the power of Christ is the only hope, what do you think you should do! PRAY, is the answer!
Think about this, do you know people who were absolutely awful before they asked Christ to save them? He can transform anyone who willing acknowledges Him with a humble heart!
As much as we need to teach our children to stand with Christ and not be deceived by the devil, we must teach them to pray for the salvation and sanctification of those the devil is using for his evil plans. 2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
Hang in there, I know no one really wants to pray for their enemy, especially the ones who are executing children; I have a point that could change your life!
Can you say you seek God to teach you and your family how to discern good and evil? Unfortunately, people are not always, what they appear. Can you say you teach your children the urgency of praying for the souls of others, good and evil as the Bible tells us?
Think about this, many times God’s Word tells us of enemies of God that turned to Christ and became the very ones that helped deliver His people from destruction.
What if your prayers and those of your children where heard in heaven and God used them to save a solider in battle or a family from death or torture. What if when the enemy was coming to attack, the Lord so heavily convicted them of their sin they could not resist Him anymore (like Saul who became Paul on the road to Damascus) and they fell on their face before God and turned to Christ, became His child and refused to attack!
(Saul thought he was doing the right thing, he thought destroying Christians was the right thing to do because he was taught they were not of God, yet when God confronted him He said Saul was persecuting Him directly! Acts 9:4 And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? (Acts 9:1-8) is a great example of how God can change the hearts of our enemies and save us, by confronting the confusion with His truth! When God came to Saul, Saul not only heard God, he listened, and he responded then became one of God’s faithful followers!)
So I ask you, is it better to live in fear and complain about what is going on or is it better to intercede by the power of prayer and call on the God of heaven who can confront the enemy with His truth and offer them the same opportunity to become His child that we had. Which is in fact is the WILL of GOD! Again, always keep in mind 2 Peter 3:9, it is God’s will that all come to Him, no matter who they are or what they have done.
It is tough to acknowledge every one of us are sinners and deserve hell, until salvation in Jesus Christ we were all destine for a devils hell and even after salvation our flesh, lust and pride can lead us to do the works of the devil. None of us are perfect, without Christ as the central focus of our lives we will all fail, over and over again.
Today, may we as Christians come together in prayer and lay aside blame and fear to make this not only a day of remembrance for those who lost loved ones and those who battle today to keep us safe and free, but to pray for the salvation of our enemies!
Matthew 5:44-45 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; 45 That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.
It is true, this is a day of remembering one of the darkest days in American history but it can be a new day by changing the focus of our hearts from fear and anger to prayer and love.
2 Chron 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
Lord Jesus, help us to submit to your Will, follow your example and obey your commands through scripture so our lives will glorify God in heaven. In Jesus Name
